Redeem your time until the years you lost become the years that define your victory story.
USE DAILY TIME STRETCH IF AGE IS AGAINST YOU
I often hear people say things like:
- “I’m 28… age is against me, I can’t take exams or seek university admission.”
- “I’m 41… I can’t remarry.”
- “I’m 56… I can’t start a business. I can’t be doing things with 23-year-olds.”
On and on, endless speeches glorifying age and grey hair while quietly signing a peace treaty with failure.
The Truth About Age Excuses
Most of these “age excuses” are not wisdom; they’re resignation. They’re simply a comfortable pillow for wasted potential. They sound deep, but in reality, they’re an announcement that you’ve stopped fighting.
But What If You Didn’t Start Early?
Life isn’t always a straight road. Sometimes you lost years not because you were lazy, but because:
- You received late information about what you should be doing.
- You grew up in a limiting environment that never exposed you to bigger possibilities.
- You faced financial constraints that delayed your education or career.
- You were trapped in systems that wasted your productive years.
- You were tied down by family responsibilities that paused your dreams.
That was my story too. A relative once told my father, “Ikenna started early to marry and do things.” I only smiled because what they didn’t know was that I lost 8–9 years locked in a system that never allowed me to leap forward.
The Only Way to Beat Lost Years — Stretch Your Time
When I realised I was behind, I didn’t cry over it. I got angry enough to change my daily life.
Today, I work and think beyond the average man of my age because I made a decision to stretch.
It’s painful. It’s mentally demanding. It drains you.
But it’s the only way to catch up, and even overtake those who had a head start.
Why Age Matters — and Why Starting Early Helps
Age is simply the measure of your time spent on earth. It’s a timer you can’t pause, rewind, or reset. Every calling, career, or ambition you pursue will be influenced by it.
That’s why people who start early in life often have an advantage:
- If you push your ministry calling at 20, you have decades to grow it.
- If you start building wealth early, you can become a billionaire in your prime.
- If you begin your academic pursuit early, you could be a professor before 45.
- If you aim for political leadership early, you can be a governor before your 50s.
- If you enter tech early, you can become a global expert before the field becomes crowded.
But if you missed your early start, you must stretch.
The Mathematics of Time Recovery
Scenario: Someone lost 8 years of productive work due to wrong choices, procrastination, sickness, financial struggles, or distractions.
- Normal pace:
- Average hardworking person = 8 hours/day × 365 days = 2,920 hours/year.
- 8 years = 23,360 hours lost.
- Recovery pace (stretching time):
- If you work 20 hours/day instead of 8, that’s 2.5 times faster.
- Every 1 calendar year becomes equal to 2.5 years of normal pace.
- Result:
- Working 20 hours/day = 7,300 hours/year.
- 23,360 ÷ 7,300 ≈ 3.2 years.
That means if you push yourself to 20 hours of focused work daily, you can recover 8 years of lost time in just a little over 3 years!
Scriptural Foundation
This is my personal principle from:
- Psalm 90:12 — “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
- Ephesians 5:15–16 — “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
- Joel 2:25 — “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”
If you’ve lost years, for a set season you must work as if every day counts double.
Normal people work 8 hours a day.
You will work 20 focused hours daily for a season.
That’s how you redeem wasted time.
Stop making age your excuse — it’s not your prison unless you let it be.
If you wasted years:
- Stretch.
- Run faster.
- Work smarter.
- Invest deeper.
Redeem your time until the years you lost become the years that define your victory story.
