Don’t wait until the business pitch to start your proposal. Start now. Consistent preparation is the currency that buys influence in any field.
PREPARE AS IF TOMORROW NO DEY
(There’s No Tomorrow)
In Nigerian everyday parlance, “Prepare as if tomorrow no dey” means moving with the seriousness of someone who knows this opportunity may never come again.
You don’t waste time.
You don’t postpone readiness.
You don’t say, “I go think about am.”
You act.
It’s not panic — it’s prophetic urgency. It’s the wisdom that seasons don’t last forever, and destiny doors don’t stay open for the slow.
“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.” — Proverbs 21:5
Why Preparation Matters
I’ve lived like this for years. I prepare for almost everything.
I cannot be caught unawares.
I will never embarrass anyone or any system if asked to deliver.
If called to make a decision for America in 24 hours, I can rule effectively — because I prepare as if I’m already in the seat.
“Preparation is the silent architect of success — it builds the structure before the public sees the building.” – Barrister Reverend Ikenna Emmanuel
I’ve seen people lose their season simply because they weren’t ready:
- A graduate waits for an interview letter before printing their CV — and misses the job.
- A business owner gets an investor meeting but has no proposal — and loses the funding.
- A leader is called to a global stage but comes empty of data, clarity, and vision — and fades into obscurity.
My Own Pattern of Readiness
Right now, I’m preparing for a global stage. My calendar is full. My hands are building. My prayers are focused.
I’m sharpening:
- Technical competence — so I can speak to any table I’m called to.
- Career mastery — so my work speaks before I even arrive.
- Spiritual depth — so no atmosphere can swallow my voice.
- Financial muscle — so I can execute vision without begging.
“Those who collapse in critical moments are often those who underestimated the cost of readiness.”
I know I will stand before leaders of nations, captains of industries, and destiny-shapers. I refuse to be found unready.
“Opportunities reward those who prepare; they punish those who assume.”
My Discipline
I prepare for everything: exams, meetings, finances, sermons.
I can preach without notes — but I never preach without preparation.
If a task is tough, I can invest 12 hours straight preparing for it.
Beloved, don’t wait until the trumpet sounds before oiling your armor.
Don’t wait until the exam day to open your books.
Don’t wait until the business pitch to start your proposal.
Start now. Prepare now. Live ready.
“Consistent preparation is the currency that buys influence in any field.”
